How is lag/latency/response time for a full-featured large ecommerce website?

We have a full-featured ecommerce website with tens of thousands of products and over 1k orders per day. I am the marketing guy, and do not have alot of experience with this. Will converting our website into an app using this method result in more "lag" or latency when interacting with the app?
