Reader Modal (External Link Account)
On iOS, “reader” apps—those primarily offering digital content like magazines, newspapers, books, audio, music, or video—can include links to external websites for account creation and management. This became possible after Apple introduced the External Link Account Entitlement, allowing approved reader apps to direct users to their websites.
To implement this feature, developers must request the entitlement from Apple and adhere to specific guidelines, such as not offering in-app purchases while using the entitlement and ensuring the external link opens in the device’s default browser.
