Download and Build Your App

Build a binary version of your app for direct installation onto test devices and upload to the Apple App Store and Google Play. Binary files are built using our cloud-based App Studio platform and a local development environment is not required. You can also build and download iOS and Android source code and build locally using Xcode and Android Studio. Follow the steps below to download files for your app based on platform.

iOS

Configure signing for your Median App Studio account and build your IPA in the cloud without requiring Mac hardware or Xcode. To build an IPA file and install your app on test devices Apple requires a paid Apple Developer Program account to generate a signing certificate and provisioning profiles. Refer to our Building an iOS Binary (IPA) guide. You can upload your IPA to App Store Connect using Apple's Transporter app which is available for macOS, Windows and Linux with installation instructions available here.

You can also download iOS source code for your app directly from App Studio. To build and test your app locally, follow the steps in our Build iOS from Source guide. A MacOS computer with Xcode is required along with an Apple Developer Program account but a free account can be used for on-device testing prior to publishing to the Apple App Store.

Also refer to our Upload iOS app to TestFlight guide.

Android

Build Android APK and Android App Bundle (AAB) binaries for your app directly in the App Studio. Android APKs are convenient for testing your app on your own Android devices. For APK installation assistance, watch our video guide in the Install Android APK article.

You can also build Android source code for your app directly from the App Studio. To build your app locally, follow the steps in our Build Android from Source guide. The Android SDK is required which is available as part of the Android Studio IDE or for stand-alone installation.
